As we anticipate the changing
colors and harvest of the fall we can also look forward to fall
activities to include homecomings, various fall festivals and, of
course, Halloween. We are well into our Rotary year and I think we can
be pleased with the harvest of so many good meeting programs, the
addition of Larry Peery as a new member, the return of Kyle Elliot to
active status and the continued success of our first ever youth exchange
program.
On October the 8th
our District Governor, Sherry Nielsen, will visit us. Sherry is a very
dynamic leader and I think we will all enjoy and appreciate the
enthusiasm she brings to Rotary. Please mark the date and plan on
attending. There is no doubt in my mind that she will be impressed
with the quality of members and the good works that Fayette Rotarians
do.
As the family of Rotary I hope
all will be thinking of Jim and Helen Thogmorton and on another note
offer congratulations to our newlywed Jim Steele and the arrival of a
new son to Jessica and Billy Quint
Henry Graham, Terry Furstaneau
and I enjoyed a good day at the 6080 District meeting held at Tan Tara
on September 20th. We increased our knowledge of the good
works of the Foundation and what we can do to become more active in
those programs. We look forward to meeting with the board and
discussing our further participation this year to include 1) application
for another District Matching Grant, 2) seek an applicant for the Peace
Studies & Ambassadorial program and 3) the possibility of becoming a
Star club. We’ll keep all informed as we work through the process.
Have a great month!!
