Leila Jebri hopes to improve her
English during her year in Fayette as she hopes eventually to be an
international lawyer or a diplomat. For either job she will
need to be fluent in English. A French-speaking resident of
Liege, Belgium, a city of approximately 200,000 people, Leila has
already studied English for six years and has studied German for
four. Leila is also interested in playing the cello, in
acting, singing, participating in track and in speech. Her
dislikes include spiders, Chinese food, physics and chemistry.
Leila is the daughter of Mohammed
Salah Jebri and Aicha El Bahi Idrissi. Her father works in
City Hall and her mother works for a regional government agency that
helps unemployed people learn the skills necessary to find a job.
She has one brother, Amin Jebri. Her visit to Fayette is being
sponsored by the Saint-Georges Chaussee (Rotary Club) of Liege,
Belgium.
Leila has traveled to Tunisia and
Morocco to visit family and to Scotland, France, England and Germany
for short school trips. This will be her first time in the
United States.
