Janet Jacobs, Business Person of the Year
Rotarians, Optimists and Lions honored Business
Person of the Year, Janet Jacobs, at the annual Services Organizations
Meeting on Thursday, May 12. Fred Eaton, Optimist President, presided at
the dinner meeting at Emmet’s Kitchen and Tap.
Rotarian
President-elect Debra Miller introduced Past Rotary President, Jim
Steele, who presented a Paul Harris Fellow to club member Bill Beneke in
absentia. Steele then presented the Business Person of the Year Award
to Janet Jacobs.
Janet Jacobs, the Executive Vice President of
Commercial Trust Bank in Fayette, has also served as a member of the
Board Curators at Central Methodist University and was instrumental in
the successful campaign to raise money to build a new Student Community
Center at the University. Janet, an active Rotarian, was also honored
as a past president of the Optimists Club of Fayette.
Ruth
and Ted Spayde provided special music prior to the dinner.
