A District 6080 grant and membership donations help
the Fayette Rotary Club raise $1800 to purchase two
audio sound systems for the
Fayette Public Schools.

international humanitarian, education, and cultural programs. Just
imagine what could be accomplished if every Rotarian contributed
$100, every year. Last year (08-09) received an
award for achieving this goal.

Rotary Sponsors Area Christmas Lights Contest
Rotary solicits decorated homes for the contest with prizes being
awarded in two categories.
Local Rotarians assist the Food Pantry
with a monetary gift. Rotarians also bag groceries and
distribute them in the month of December. The
Food Pantry
provides food for approximately 300 persons in Howard County each
month. Over $1000 was raised for the Food Pantry by the local
Rotary Club during the Club 'garage sale'.
Eli Tinker-Fortel is selected as a Youth Exchange Student to France by District 6080
Rotary Sponsors Town and Country Event
Rotary and the University of Missouri Extension Service put together
an event for rural and city folks which provides information about a
variety of opportunities. The day is capped off with a meal
and entertainment. The 2010 event was held January
23, 2010.
The Fayette Ministerial Alliance
is a local organization which helps needy persons
in the community.
Fayette Rotary supports their work with a monetary gift to their
Benevolence Fund. The Ministerial Alliance is composed of
pastors from most of the local churches. Anyone knowing of a
person in need may contact the pastor of a community church.

The Local Rotary Club Contributes to Polio Plus
It is the goal of Rotary International to eradicate polio in the
world. Rotary members throughout the world are assisting with
this project through gifts, service and time. To learn more

Fayette Rotarians Support Project Literacy
A monetary gift to the Howard County Public Library
Fayette Librarian, Cathey Monckton, says that the gift will be used
for acquisitions and services supporting library youth patrons.
Rotary Supports PAWS
Carole Leech and others work hard to find homes for unwanted dogs
and to properly treat those for which there is no place.
Rotary salutes her efforts and has made a monetary donation to
help with the veterinary costs connected to this work.
Rotary Donates to the Fayette Music Boosters
Once each four years the Fayette High School Marching Band travels
to Washington, D.C., where they perform and explore. The cost
of the trip is covered by fund raisers and donations. Every
student who plays in the band all four years, will have an
opportunity to take this trip.
Scholarship to Central Methodist University
Each year the Fayette Rotary Club awards a $500 scholarship to a
deserving Fayette High School graduate who plans to attend Central
Methodist University.
Fayette Rotary Club Supports Local Youths
Each year the Fayette Rotary Club supports Rotary District (RYLA)
and local youth (Girls State/Boys State) programs.
Fayette Rotary Club Supports 4th of July Fireworks
Each year the Club contributes to the City of Fayette fund which
makes possible the fireworks display at the City Park on the 4th of
July.
