VISION PURSUED
The Fayette Rotary club is a pre-imminent provider of philanthropic
service in our community, and thus an
asset that draws new business to our community.
CLUB SIZE
We grown our club to 75 or more members, and we have added more women
and ethnic members, lowered our median age, and we represent every major
vocational group in our community. We also have Rotaract and
Interact club affiliates.
ATTRIBUTES
We offer a continuation of excellent Wednesday noon speakers that will
keep our members coming and draw new members from the community.
We also provide a mentoring program for new members on the importance of
service and foundation giving. We offer programs for our members
on the various ways to give to the Rotary International Foundation and
how it invests our money and others. We hold Quarterly/events
designed specically to bring in prospective members.
Vocational Avenue
service
We have developed programs whereby Rotary touches the lives of
public school students several times throughout their educational
career. We offer a speakers' bureau for local schools. We
have also developed a vocational mentoring program with high school and
college students.
Community Avenue
service
We have developed programming for home school students to get
them more involved in the community. We have taken a primary
leadership role in developing and maintaining an outdoor classroom.
We continue to support RYLA. We have led our community in efforts
to "adopt a spot" in Fayette.
International
Avenue service
Rotary annually sponsors an inbound and outbound student with the
goal of growing our commitment to 2 inbound and 2 outbound
students per year. We also nominate an ambassadorial scholar each
year from CMU.
Foundation
success
We have provided funding for 100 PETS Our club has achieved
100% EREY annually with our goal being $100 per member. Our Polio
Plus giving has averaged $25 per member annually also. We have
raised $25,000 from annual International Night events (Example: Belgian
Beer and Chocolate Night). We have also raised $1000 per year from
the sale of Green Mountain Coffee to support local service projects and
clean water projects.
Public relations
Our Rotary club has established a regular presence in the local
newspaper. We continue to involve local, non-Rotarians in Rotary
programs like RYE and RYLA. We have developed a three color club
brochure to offer to prospective members and other members of the
community. We had a successful Fayette Rotary club 75th year
anniversary celebration event.
