Rotarians, Optimists and Lions honored Business Person of the Year, Sonja Allen, at the annual Services Organizations Meeting on Thursday, May 25. Jeremiah Maxwell, Optimist President, led the pledge of allegiance at the dinner meeting at Emmet’s Kitchen and Tap.

Fayette’s 2006 Business Person of the Year is popular local restaurateur Sonja Allen.

She is owner of 240 Culinary Creations just outside Fayette which she purchased earlier this year when the previous owners retired.

Earlier, Allen was proprietor of the Flour Creations Restaurant and Bakery which was located on the square. Her cinnamon rolls were among many delicacies which became well known.

The honor to Allen, who has headed the Main Street board, came from the Fayette Rotary Club and was presented during the annual service club awards banquet Thursday evening at Emmet’s Kitchen & Tap. Making the presentation above is Rotary President Deborah Miller.

Also at the event, the Fayette Optimist Club honored former club President Fred Eaton, left, with a lifetime membership in the organization.
